Ads focus on Whitmer’s record expanding health care, fighting for survivors
DETROIT — Today the Whitmer for Governor campaign launched two new campaign ads ahead of the general election. The first 15-second ad, titled “Desk to Desk,” features Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan and focuses on Whitmer’s record working across the aisle to expand Medicaid to more than 680,000 Michiganders. The second 15-second ad, titled “Away,” features Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy and focuses on Whitmer’s record of fighting for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault as Ingham County Prosecutor.
“DESK TO DESK” MAYOR DUGGAN SCRIPT: As the Senate Leader, Gretchen Whitmer went desk to desk to get Republicans and Democrats to pass Medicaid expansion, and now 680,000 people have health care. Her leadership changed lives and saved lives. Imagine what she can do as governor.
“AWAY” PROSECUTOR WORTHY SCRIPT: Gretchen Whitmer is fearless. As a prosecutor, she cracked down on domestic abusers and stood up for rape victims whose cases had been ignored. Gretchen isn’t afraid to tell the truth, even when some people don’t want to hear it. She’s the governor we need.
Both commercials will begin airing on broadcast and cable TV stations in the Detroit media market starting today.
