DETROIT — Today the Whitmer for Governor Campaign launched a new campaign ad ahead of the general election. The 30-second ad, titled “First Day,” focuses on Whitmer’s record of fighting for public education.
AD SCRIPT: Every year we take a “first day of school” picture. I love them. And every morning it’s still a scramble getting my girls out the door to high school. As Senate Democratic Leader, I fought to raise teacher pay, cut class sizes, and invest in public schools. But not Bill Schuette. He voted to cut $500 million from education and support Betsy Devos’s plans to send taxpayer dollars to private schools. Bill Schuette doesn’t get it. But I do. It all starts with good schools.
The commercial will begin airing on broadcast and cable TV stations across Michigan starting today.
