Everyone knows that our politicians have let us down. The partisan bickering and reluctance to sacrifice has held us back from making real changes that could help turn this state around. Gretchen won't win any popularity contests in Lansing because she's been pushing for true reforms that would require elected officials to sacrifice like the rest of us and finally start to restore some accountability and transparency from our leaders.

Her plan:
- Scrap the "bonuses for politicians" loophole.
- Reduce perks and pay. If lawmakers don't show up for work, they don't get paid.
- End lifetime health benefits for six years of service.
- Rein in secret, taxpayer-funded expense accounts. Require documentation and post how it's spent online. Gretchen is leading by example, donating hers to charity each month and posting details on her website.
- Demand that candidates and lawmakers disclose their income and assets so we can see for ourselves if they are bought and paid for. Michigan is one of only three states in the country without this type of oversight.
